Denmark Novel Food Service Concept

The prominent work of the Canadian Malnutrition Task Force has opened up our eyes in the last few years on the prevalence and burden of malnutrition in Canadian hospitals. This issue is one that many countries face. Denmark studied the impact of an innovative food service model on protein and energy intake of hospitalised patients at nutritional risk. The intervention group received a protein-supplemented à la carte food service concept. It was found that this novel concept had a significant positive impact on overall protein intake in hospitalised patients at nutritional risk. Read the full article here.
